ITMB first introduced this interesting country in 2023 and found demand so high that we are already introducing an updated second edition. Oman is a very interesting portion of the Persian Gulf states that has kept itself separate from the United Arab Emirates conglomeration of filthy rich oil states and maintained its separate identity. It is actually two identities, in that the northern tip of Oman Musandam is physically separated from the rest of the country by Fujairah Emirate of the UAE, while Muscat itself is further along the coast. The country has managed to stay out of conflicts in both nearby Iran and its neighbour Yemen and is a haven of peace and responsible government in a region known for its volatility. Most of the touristic attractions are concentrated in the Muscat Region, with excellent road networks making visiting easy. Access to the country is also easy, and the country is very tourist-friendly Access to Dubai and the UAE is also easy, but travel to Yemen is not recommended
